Teacher brings in new game.
Gain attention:
"I brought in a new game for you to learn to play today. Has
anyone played this game before?" (elicit student responses)
Review previous learning:
"We've been talking about following rules. What does
following rules have to do with this new game?" (elicit
student responses)
Model
Teacher has class members read and explain the rules. Teacher assists with clarification as necessary and with starting the game.
Practice with feedback:
Teacher and students play the game, with teacher monitoring and
providing positive and corrective feedback.

learn to play a new game. Following rules helps you in a variety
of ways. Other than games, when do you need to follow
